February Challenge Update

Well, I want to know how everybody's doing with the challenge!! Here we are, six days in, and the newness has now worn off. I know, that at the beginning, it is sort of like starting a Bible reading plan.

You're all excited, and motivated, and chomping at the bit to get going. Days 1-4 are usually like that. You might even still be super motivated here on Day 6. But that's rare. Typically, by the sixth day, the newness is wearing off. You might even be forgetting to pray.

Maybe you think about it after you go to bed at night and figure it's not worth doing then, so you'll just do it tomorrow. If this is you, I have a message for you.

You are about to miss the blessing.

If I could, I would give you a glimpse into the future. I would show you all the wonderful things that God wants to do in your marriage. It doesn't matter if you think you have the best marriage ever; He still wants to make it more like the relationship between Christ and His church. There is so much more He wants to teach you, show you, give you.

But if you give up now, or slack off, you're going to miss it.

Praying for my marriage every day for a solid month actually saved my marriage. It not only changed me; it changed my husband. It changed our home. It totally transformed our relationship.

So please, please, don't give up. You're just getting to the good part. When Satan tries to tell you that it just isn't working, tell him that his tricks aren't working.

When he tells you that your man will never change, tell him that he and his schemes will never change, and you're onto him. Put him in his place through prayer.

Every single day, pray for a hedge of protection for your man, yourself, and your marriage. Pray for God to bless the socks off that man of yours. Pray for God to soften your heart toward your husband. Pray for your husband to be a man who seeks after God, who is the leader God designed him to be.

And if you need some help and accountability, please go visit my Facebook page, where I am posting updates and encouragement every day of the challenge!

So, how's it going? Are you feeling motivated or discouraged? Are you already beginning to see some changes as you pray?

  1. I HAVE found a softening of my heart toward him. Most days. And some days, I pray, "Lord, please deal with him and his selfish ways." But I also pray if I need His correcting, I receive it with a willing spirit. Thanks for your encouragement, Dawn. Hanging in there!--LMN

  2. Well, I wasn't gonna do the thing at all, even though I thought about it, because I'm a slacker. But when you put it that way, I guess I can come in a little late, right? We're good in this marriage, but maybe the prayer could be a little more fervent and effectual, right?

  3. I always begin my prayers with "please change me first" and then I pray for my hubby. I don't always get to read my "day" first but there are things we are dealing with that need prayer now so I am praying for him in those areas. I too have a softened heart towards him. Thank you for your encouragement Dawn!
